This week Creative Chair is in Boston, Massachusetts, talking photography with Luke Robillard for the 23rd instalment of 50 States.
We were drawn to Luke’s work because it seemed to capture the essence of Boston in a candid and unassuming way.

Tell us a little bit more about yourself and what you do
My name is Luke Robillard and I am a photographer based out of Massachusetts. I am the owner of LukeyPhotography and I am currently a college student enrolled at Mount Ida College in the Commercial Photography program in Boston.
My passion for photography first started while I was attending high school at St. Andrew’s in Barrington, Rhode Island. I love to take photos of the city and street life. I also travel whenever I have the opportunity. I have travelled to many states and also other countries.
As a photographer, travel is one of the most important aspects.
How has your state influenced the work that you do?
Massachusetts has always influenced me to become a better photographer. All throughout Massachusetts, there are so many wonderful places to photograph.
Boston, MA is one of my favorites, this location is in the city and also along the harbor. In Boston, there are so many amateur and professional photographers all competing to get the perfect shot, so I find that there is always competition wherever I go.
Of your own work, what is your favourite project and why?
For all of my work I have done, all of my photographs from Chinatown in Boston are my favorites. If I had to choose one, I would say the one named “Puff & Play” on my Behance account located under “Boston September 24th”. This is one of my favorites because it shows a different life in Boston, MA.
The 106th 366 Award goes to Luke Robillard for his outstanding creative work.
And finally, if you died and got reincarnated as a song, what would that song be?
If I were to die and I was reincarnated as a song, My song choice would be Khalid – Young Dumb & Broke.
